Ocean Asylum was initially formed in 2023 in Virginia Beach, VA as a fun Dillinger Escape Plan cover band featuring Wesley Trott on Guitars, Austin Hill on Bass, and Rob Moore on Drums. They found themselves working originals into the set when vocalist Rickey Fowl was initiated into the group. Influenced by the odd time signatures and the songwriting of progressive metal and the soaring vocals of classic rock, they meld the line between the two genres and stand out in the scene.
